EA's finally, officially confirmed its modern day Medal of Honor reboot, simply called 'Medal of Honor'.
The new game, which as we already knew takes place in war-torn Afghanistan, is being developed by EA Los Angeles and DICE for a 2010 release.
According to EA the development team at its LA studio have been "hand-selected" to deliver a "world-class Medal of Honor that is poised to re-set and re-boot the franchise for a new generation." Meanwhile the Battlefield boys and girls at DICE will work on the multiplayer experience.
The franchise reboot introduces the Tier 1 Operator: a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle, says EA.
"Set against the backdrop of a rugged and brutal landscape, Medal of Honor depicts modern military operations through the lens of a small band of fictional characters," it says. "Inspired by real events, Medal of Honor reveals the mission of today's most elite soldier - his will, his mindset and his uncompromising professionalism
