What settings do u think would be best for our public servers?

My settings

For COD 2 try a rifle only mod. If not like i said before limit nades and shottys. Its all about admins been there to get the general feeling of the people who are in the server. Not easy i know.

If you want alot of people onit you should do a Total Realism mod +custom maps and i think there will be load o players onit

Struggling to get these off the ground, lots of people join the CoD4 server all through the day but its hard keeping them there.. I think some of the maps etc need tweaking cuz they seem to leave on certain maps.. Anyone else got any ideas on map rotation and settings etc for both servers? I want everyones opinion lol.

also i agree with what wayne said servers deffo need to be well adminned, ill see what i can do with servers admin tools etc but i think that if people join and see a few ki members there then it looks alot better... I'll try and sort some "server nights" out where we all play in the server for a while together, let me know which days/times etc is good for this too.

I remember the Fun server on COD 1 was always monitored and well policed. Along with GSG it made it a server everybody wanted to play in and didnt mind there kids playing in there too. Would be very hard to replicate that imo.

Nearly impossible wayneo, would be good to have something along the same lines though.. just looking into some monitoring tools.

For CoD4 public there defenitly need to be promodlive 204 EU enabled on the server, TDM or SD, with only the usual playable maps : Crash, Crossfire, Backlot, Strike, Citystreets and maybe some customs in rotation ;D

Cheers for opinion mate, i put it on but when i joined it was kicking me for r_fog being set to 0, but when i tried to change to 1 it was saying it was cheat protected and wouldnt let me change, so it was kicking me...

Anyone ever heard of this? or know how to fix it..?

try this

Change r_fog cvar in PB main folder:

Search for this line:
pb_sv_cvar r_fog IN 1

And change it too:
pb_sv_cvar r_fog IN 0 1

Then just restart server and voila. It wont happen again.

was again thinking about this one, how to get it full..

Maybe its better to make it a SD since there are so many TDM's around, most TDM's are from pro teams such as Dignitas, H2k, Team Coolermaster and other teams. So people will join that sooner then a TDM from Killer Instinct, maybe we make more chance to get it full if its a SD public.

Always found sd is alot harder to fill then tdm, once there is a couple of players in there alot of people join, i htink maybe the thing that puts them off is the lack of ki players that go there due to us not having alot of members, now u lot have joined we could have alot more then just me playing there.. Maybe we shud plan a night where a few of us get on the server for a couple of hours, once they see its a well run server they will come back.

Changed this back to default for now without promod, putting it on seems to of killed any activity it had, so hopefully now its on default more people will join again.. When and if this happens and we start getting regs in there then ill change it back to promod.

Update, CoD4 server now has promod back on it but this time with S&D and the CoD2 server has Pam Public setup also with S&D..

I wanna play in our CoD4 public sometimes, but theres no promodlive on it... So i wont play on it ;p

Get promodlive and leave it at TDM just as it is now.

And we will play at it sometimes, then it just takes time to get it full that wont happen in a few days

Asswell for the cod2 public i would like to have the PAM which is used in clanbase on it asswell and get GV streaming on there. Cause without gv streaming its easy to hack on cod2 and with that PAM which is used in wars its much more fun to pub, cause otherwise pubbing is so different then playing wars
